Audrey Lorea Wins Stowe Story Labs HollyShorts Film Festival Fellowship

Audrey Lorea is a multi-hyphenated creative human. Empowering others is always at the core of everything she does.

“I am beyond honored and grateful to be the recipient of the 2021 Stowe Narrative Lab Fellowship, sponsored by HollyShorts Film Festival. This is an incredible opportunity for me to go more deeply into my craft and to pave a way towards writing full-time in the episodic world,” says Audrey Lorea.

In addition to screenwriting, Audrey has worked behind the scenes in the film, media, and episodic industry for over eight years. Last year, she was a Semi-Finalist for the WeScreenplay Diverse Voices fellowship to the 2020 Stowe’s Narrative Lab and was admitted to the 2020 Stowe Narrative Lab. She placed in the Top 20 Finalists for the 2020 Film Empire Diversity Screenwriting Membership. Other recent semi-finalists, quarter-finalist, and finalist screenwriting placements include: the WeScreenplay TV Pilot Competition, Final Draft’s Big Break Screenwriting Contest, ScreenCraft Drama Competition, Filmmatic Inroads Screenwriting Fellowship, Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, and the Finish Line Script Competition. Lastly, her script “Blood Dog”  made Coverfly’s weekly “Red List” for Top Drama Hour-Long TV Scripts.

At the end of 2020, she produced a limited series called “The Green Veil” starring John Leguizamo with The Boathouse Agency, which is forthcoming. She consulted on the feature film “Abe,” starring Noah Schnapp (Stranger Things) which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2019. Other recent consulting credits include: “Framing John Delorean” with XYZ Films, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival, and “The Artist’s Wife” starring Lena Olin and Bruce Dern.

Her debut micro-budget feature film, “Heaven is Now,” was the First Prize Feature Film winner and premiered in Los Angeles at Film Crash, co-founded by Sundance Jury Winner Matthew Harrison. She was an Executive Producer on the film “Bad Candy” starring Constance Shulman. A commercial she produced won “Best Commercial” at the LA Ind. Film Festival. She was the second unit director of the road-trip film, ‘Detours’ (featuring Richard Kind, Paul Sorvino). Other producing highlights include “Rufus” (Moxie Pictures), “Green Eyes” (Whiplash Films), and “Girl Night Stand” which garnered press with Bustle, Huffington Post, and more. 

The 2021 Stowe Story Labs HollyShorts Fellowship is awarded to the top filmmaker admitted to the HollyShorts Film Festival who shows tremendous craft and presents an outstanding story to develop. This will cover tuition for Remote August Sidewalk Lab in 2021 along with all other fellowship benefits.
