The Film Girl Film Festival is partnering with No Studios and Milwaukee Film to screen the blockbuster hit “Wonder Woman” in 70mm on Friday, March 8 at 6:30 pm at the Oriental Theatre. The screening will be a part of a celebration for International Women’s Day.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, the 2017 film “Wonder Woman” follows Diana (Gal Gadot), an Amazon warrior who decides to leave her hidden island paradise Themyscira to fight for justice in the world of men during WWI, “the war to end all wars.” The movie co-stars Chris Pine as American spy Steve Trevor, who becomes Diana’s love interest and guide to the outside world. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing $821 million worldwide, with a sequel – also directed by Jenkins – expecting to hit theaters in the summer of 2020, with Gadot and Pine will reprising their roles as Diana and Trevor, respectively.

Tickets can be purchased at MKE Film. More information can be found at NO Studios and filmgirlfilm.com. Filmmakers who wish to submit to the Film Girl Film Festival can do so at FilmFreeWay

About Film Girl Film Festival

The Film Girl Film Festival was founded by film critic Andrea Thompson. She became inspired when people in the local film community and Hollywood insiders alike started having in-depth discussions of the obstacles and disparate treatment women in the industry continue to endure. As the festival grew, Thompson decided to rename it the Film Girl Film Festival to foster partnerships across the worldwide community while featuring and supporting the Milwaukee arts scene
