Emotional Motor Unit (EMU) is the story of a lonely writer in an alternate-present day, where work is the focus of our lives and a place where emotions come second to output.

The film follow a middle-aged male writer (Graham Cawte), employed by ‘The Company’. The writer completes various assignments for the Company such as composing pamphlets and writing character biographies. His new task is to write a novel, but, given his lack of life experience, he is hesitant to accept.

The Company supplies an Emotional Motor Unit (E. M. U.) – a special robot designed as a human (woman). Its purpose is to provide the writer with life experience, thus enabling him to write the book.

Synopsis: E.M.U (Emotional Motor Unit) is the story of a lonely writer in an alternative present day, where work is the focus of our lives and emotions come second to output. Follow Graham Cawte as the writer who learns what it means to be human through his interactions with an E.M.U Robot.

Emotional Motor Unit is directed by Adam Nelson, and written by Xènia Puiggrós. it stars Finnian Nainby-Luxmore, Graham Cawte, Candice Palladino and Francesca Burgoyne.
