Fantastic Four is directed by Josh Trank, it stars Miles Teller, Micheal B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell. This is the third attempt to re-make the Fantastic Four Franchise. The story revolves around four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

This movie is the most criticized superhero movie. Personally, I didn’t hate it as much as others did. But it is one of the worst movies of this year, in my opinion. The production went through many problems: arguments , conflicts, removal of certain scenes, and the firing of the visual effects supervisor without the awareness of the director, Josh Trank while in production. The movie had potential, it could have been the best superhero movie of the year. But, lets go to the positives of the movie. The movie started off well until the first 45 minutes. The cast worked as an ensemble, and they had a chemistry. The visual effects is better than in the previous attempts of the franchise. The VFX on the “Thing” and Reed’s looked great. The movie idea, was approached from an interesting perspective.

Now to the negatives. Fox removed tons of scenes which I thought, would have made the story much acceptable. Dr. Doom became one of the worst villain on silver-screen. His appearance looked awful. The Last act was the worst I have seen in a superhero movie. The third act of the movie, lost it aim, and sagged, the movie was short for a blockbuster. The movie felt like a Sci-Fi rather than a Superhero movie. We didn’t get to see the heroes use their superpowers. And the heavy involvement of the Government ruined the movie.

In the end Fantastic Four was a wasted opportunity. But I really enjoyed this more than
Terminator: Genisys and the Minions
