Guillaume Enard and Jonathan Delerue’s medieval tale By Blood’ focuses on a man who feels his dark past is catching up to him. This incredible film has already won awards and has been selected to play at the Oscar qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival. By Blood stars Jonas Bloquet (The Nun, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, 3 Days to Kill), Anne Charrier (Prêtes à tout) and Pascal Greggory (La Vie En Rose).

By Blood Official Synopsis: Once a ruthless warlord who won his land by his sword, Mort-Lieu is now a sick old man. A mysterious knight appears; Mort-Lieu believes the stranger is Death himself coming to get him. Facing his own end, Mort-Lieu has to confront his legacy.

Jonathan Delerue is an Emile Cohl School of Art Graduate who has worked closely and frequently as storyboard and concept artist with Luc Besson’s company EuropaCorp, which produced Colombiana, Taken 2, Taken 3 and 3 Days to Kill. He has also worked with Academy Award winner Thomas Langman (Vanikoro). His previous credits also include Frontière(s), Mutants, La Traque and Vertiges, on which his artistic skills helped to enhance the production value of those low budgets films.

Guillaume Enard began as an editor and sound editor on several Films and TV series before becoming a full time screenwriter, penning many animated TV series such as Iron Man, Invisible Man, Super 4 and The Marsupilami. He directed two short films, including Brumes which was screened at the L.A. ScreamFest and the Ravenna Nightmare Film Festival. He is beginning to develop his feature film projects with his co-director Jonathan Delerue.

The cast includes Jonas Bloquet whose notable and recent credits are The Nun, 3 Days to Kill, Paul Verhoeven’s Elle, Anne Charrier who won the Best Female Award for her role as the lead actress in Prêtes à tout, and Pascal Greggory who starred in epic movies such as La Vie En Rose, The Messenger and The Queen Margot.

Since its completion 6 months ago, By Blood has won multiple awards including Best Short Film and Best History/War Film at Saint Tropez Film Festival, Best Director and Best Cinematography at the European Cinematography Awards, Best Stunts at Enginuity Film Festival and Best Film of the Festival at AltFF Alternative Film Festival.

By Blood will screen at Hollyshorts Film Festival in August 13th at 7:30pm, Action on Film in Las Vegas the following week, New Renaissance Film Festival on August 23rd and Toronto Independent Film Festival in September.
