‘Last Party’, Romantic Drama by 23 y/o Filipino-American Filmmaker to be Screened in NY Festivals

Filipino-American Filmmaker Julian Carlo Santos’ film “Last Party,” produced by City Bear Media, is coming to New York festivals in the summer. Santos is a first-generation Filipino-American, and the 84-minute movie represents his directorial feature debut at age 23.

The movie “Last Party” is a romantic-drama about the intertwined stories of three college-age couples during a Christmas party. Early reviews have called the film “a magnificent example of what cinema can do… with just a camera, a bunch of willing people, and, obviously, a lot of talentRome Prisma.

The film stars young local New York actors such as Gabriel Armentano, Samantha Brooks, Martin Drop, Anna Clare Kerr, James Williams, and Lainey Woo. “Last Party” represents the first major feature debut of Samantha Brooks, granddaughter of famous comedy filmmaker, Mel Brooks.

The film will be streamed as part of the New York Indie Film Festival (held online due to COVID-19) on June 6th, 2020.

Last Party” will make its theatrical festival premiere at the Village East Cinema for the Manhattan Film Festival, which is taking place from June 19-July 2, 2020. The film has also been accepted into the “New Filmmakers” screening series and the Prisma Film Festival.

The film is still being considered for dozens more upcoming film festivals. City Bear Media, the production company, is currently seeking a distributor for a potential limited theatrical or VOD release.
