Sebastian Harrison is the VP of North America’s Reputation Up. He talks about his cousin, the Hollywood producer Jill Messick, who took her life over false allegations on the internet, and why the company Reputation Up is needed.
Sebastian Harrison was born in Rome, and raised both there and in Los Angeles. His father, Richard Harrison, was an Italian actor who starred in over 130 movies. His grandfather was a producer who produced over 500 movies. After his own successful career as an actor in Italy, Sebastian decided to attend UCLA. He started a successful online business over 20 years ago.
In 2018, Sebastian’s cousin, Jill Messick, an established film producer and Rose McGowan’s former agent, was unwillingly and erroneously entangled in the Weinstein accusations. Hollywood ‘cancelled’ Jill, and the social media attacks on her character were relentless. The pressure was so unbearable that she resorted to taking her life (see Vanity Fair article on Jill Messick’s suicide). She left behind a large, close-knit family including two teenagers. Sebastian was particularly close to her, and he and Jill spoke every day during these difficult times. His support was not enough to save her.
Reputation Up Makes Negative Articles Disappear from the Internet Permanently.
A friend from Italy asked Sebastian for recommendations for an experienced executive to help Reputation Up expand operations in the US. Sebastian was immediately intrigued that a company that could delete unwanted articles even existed. He made the correlation with the events leading to Jill’s death, and was interested in learning more. What he learned first is that, while his cousin’s reaction was extreme, countless others have had their careers and lives ruined by information that is inaccurate and oftentimes malicious.
Secondly, he learned that unwanted content can be removed. Sebastian introduced several friends to Reputation Up, who in turn signed up for their services. All of these people were falsely accused, and their reputations were severely impacted. Unanimously, they were ecstatic with the results. Now, two years later, Sebastian is the VP of Reputation Up for North America.
