New York, NY November 30, 2021 – Crime drama series Street Smart won the Best Pilot episode at NYC Web Fest, indieactivity has confirmed. The pilot won at 2021 NYC Web Fest on November 12-14, 2021, says its producers, and it is now in development.
“We are elated at the response we received for our Street Smart Pilot episode”, said Anthony Welch. Street Smart was nominated for three categories at the NYC Web Fest 2021. Its nominations are Best Pilot, Best Action/Suspense, and Outstanding Achievement in Writing, but it eventually took home the Best Pilot episode win.
Logline: Street Smart follows Joey McGloin, a retired NYPD Detective, who considers accepting a job that would pay more than usual to work for a powerful crime boss. The offer which gets McGloin out of debt turns out to be something else. Is there no way out of his dilemma, or wait maybe there is…?

Firstly, “I can’t wait to bring more episodes to life. Secondly, there is so much more to address with the ongoing opioid crisis, thirdly that we hope to bring as much awareness to this epidemic, particularly the stigma, misconceptions, stereotypes. Lastly, many carry such suffering from this addiction as well as their loved one’s”, said Welch. Anthony Welch is a producer and also the creator, writer, and stars as a lead character in the web series.
Street Smart is an episodic crime-drama series in development therefore Anthony Welch will not give much away about what is yet to come. However, “McGloin will be put into more awkward and uncomfortable situations by the crime boss and his “Family” as Season 1 progresses, says Welch.
The Street Smart Proof of Concept episode is currently under wraps from full public viewing. In conclusion, we look forward to great entertainment as the producers seek a production and distribution deal.
