Indiecan Entertainment has released Zach Gayne’s highly-anticipated STATES, starring Alex Essoe (the upcoming “Doctor Sleep”). States premiered in New York theatre (Cinema Village) this August.

The film is inspired by daring works of independent adventurism, particularly in the Slacker spirit, States was made with nothing but a camera, two microphones, a credit card and a passion for the open road. The film is a neorealist collaboration with carefully selected, very talented strangers – actors and non-actors recruited along the way – that tells an ensemble tale of drifters, ramblers, sirens and gamblers.

A transient road film featuring an array of young drifters wandering throughout the U.S. with varying degrees of purpose, or lack-thereof , “States” is a multifaceted meditation on freedom – via Twain, Kerouac, Altman, Linklater… – and an outsider’s love letter to America and the searchers of its endless highways.

The film is written and directed by Zach Gayne, stars Alex Essoe, who plays Wendy Torrence in the upcoming ‘Shining’ prequel “Doctor Sleep”, with Jeremy O.Harris and DC Paul.

The full stars are Michael Wieck, Victor Reynoso, Rachael Cederberg, Devin Rivera, JC Anderson, Robbie Bruens, Jeremy O. Harris, Jasmin Kaset, Mackenzie Green, Alex Essoe, DC Paul, Jon Reaux, Ayaka Kinugawa

States from Indiecan Entertainment is a comedy, drama from Zach Gayne, that runs for 104 minutes.
