London, UK – Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, has acquired U.S. VOD rights to the quirky comedy-drama Adult Adoption. Adult Adoption will be available to rent and own on U.S. digital HD internet and satellite platforms on February 14, 2023, through Freestyle Digital Media.
Logline: Adult Adoption tells the story of a former foster child who has aged out of the foster care system and goes online to find love with a parent.
Rosy is a 25-year-old former foster child who aged out of foster care at 18. Since then, she has managed to build a stable albeit rudimentary life for herself. Finding herself compelled by a desire to know familial love, she turns to a different kind of online dating in search of what she never had, a parent.
After signing up for an adult adoption service, Rosy meets Jane, a high school teacher estranged from her own daughter, and the fast intimacy between the pair leads to an obsessive and complicated mother-daughter attachment. A funny, brutal film exploring the truth and fantasy of unconditional love.

Directed by Karen Knox and written by Ellie Moon, Adult Adoption was produced by Kristina Esposito and co-produced by Robyn Laliberte. The cast features Ellie Moon (as Rosy), Rebecca Northan (as Jane’), Leah Doz (as Helen) and Chelsea Muirhead (as Nola).
