Basic, Full-Scale or Deep: How to Choose the Right Cleaning Tier in Bratislava

Most complaints about cleaning companies are not complaints about cleaning. They are complaints about specification — a client ordered the cheapest package for a flat that needed the heaviest one, and then judged the company on a result the package never promised. A cleaning company in Bratislava can only deliver what was booked, which makes the choice of tier the most consequential decision in the whole process. Shine Guards runs three tiers, and they stack.

The Three Tiers, Defined

Basic Cleaning is regular maintenance designed to keep a space consistently clean and comfortable. It assumes the property is already in reasonable condition and deals with what has dirtied over the past one to two weeks.

Full-Scale Cleaning is a more thorough clean for properties needing extra attention. It contains everything from Basic and extends it across the entire home, adding bathroom disinfection, interior window washing, hood cleaning, balcony tidying and a fuller treatment of kitchen surfaces.

Deep Cleaning is intensive top-to-bottom work for properties demanding maximum attention. It contains the entire Full-Scale scope and adds exterior window washing, appliance interiors including oven, dishwasher and fridge, all cabinets cleaned inside, and stain removal from upholstery and carpets.

The relationship is cumulative, not parallel. Each tier is a superset of the one below it, which means the choice is about how far up the stack the property needs to go rather than about picking between different styles of cleaning.

Shine Guards states that the exact scope of a visit varies with the condition of the property. That is the honest framing: the tier defines the ceiling of what will be done, and the condition defines how much of that ceiling gets used.

The Diagnostic Questions

How long since the last professional clean? Under two weeks points to Basic. Six to eight weeks points to Full-Scale. Several months or unknown points to Deep. This single question resolves most cases.

When were the appliance interiors last done? If the oven, fridge and dishwasher have not been cleaned inside within the past year, no maintenance visit will touch them — they sit only in the Deep tier.

Are the exterior windows reachable? Interior glass is in Full-Scale; the exterior face is in Deep or bookable as a standalone window cleaning service. In an upper-floor flat this is not a task that can be improvised.

Is there visible staining on carpets or upholstery? Stain removal from soft furnishings is a Deep-tier item. Vacuuming, which is in every tier, does not address it.

Is this a recurring arrangement or a one-off? Recurring clients are best served by a Deep first visit and Basic thereafter. One-off bookings usually need Full-Scale or Deep, because a one-off maintenance clean on an unknown property rarely satisfies anyone.

Are there children or pets in the household? Both raise the accumulation rate, which shortens the interval at which a maintenance tier remains sufficient and shifts the answer up the stack for the same elapsed time.

The Sequence That Costs Least Over a Year

Shine Guards recommends starting with a deep clean and then moving to regular maintenance. The reasoning is straightforward and worth stating in numbers rather than adjectives.

An intensive clean is priced for the work it contains — appliance interiors, cabinets, exterior glass, soft furnishings. That work does not need repeating often. Once done, a fortnightly maintenance visit keeps the property from returning to the state that required it.

The alternative pattern — skipping maintenance and ordering an intensive clean every few months — pays the premium price repeatedly for work that only needed doing once. It is the most common way households overspend on cleaning.

Frequency after the reset follows occupancy. Weekly suits families with children or pets. Every two weeks suits couples and single occupants, and is the most common interval. Monthly suits people who are rarely home.

Where possible the same specialist is assigned to recurring visits, which reduces the time each visit takes as the cleaner learns the property, and removes the need to re-explain preferences.

What Does Not Change Between Tiers

Pricing is fixed in advance for every tier. The figure is agreed before the specialist is dispatched and does not move afterwards, so the choice of tier changes the price but never the pricing model.

Responsibility for damage sits with the company regardless of which service was booked. If something is damaged during a visit, Shine Guards takes full responsibility and resolves the issue.

Staffing is the same across tiers. Every cleaner completes training and passes a practical assessment before working with clients, and the team communicates in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

Scheduling flexibility applies to all three: mornings, evenings or weekends, arranged around the client rather than around a fixed shift pattern. The contact centre operates seven days a week.

Payment terms are identical — after the service, in cash, by card or by cashless transfer — and every visit is followed up by the manager, with corrections made at no additional charge.

Extras behave the same way at every tier. Ironing and wardrobe organisation at €28 per hour, fridge, oven or extractor hood at €35 each, microwave at €22, cabinet work at €28 per hour: these can be attached to a Basic visit just as easily as to a Deep one, which often makes an extended Basic clean the correct answer instead of a tier upgrade.

Getting the Specification Right Before You Book

Use the online calculator on the Bratislava page as a starting point rather than a final answer. It gives an initial figure per service type, and the manager confirms the parameters afterwards.

Prepare three numbers before the confirmation call: square metres, number of rooms and number of bathrooms. These drive most of the quote and having them ready shortens the call to a few minutes.

List the specific items that bother you. “The oven, the inside of the kitchen cupboards and the sofa” is a specification. “A proper clean” is not, and it is the phrasing that produces mismatched expectations.

Say if there are pets, and say if anyone in the household has allergies or a preference for particular products. The company brings its own supplies but will use the client’s on request.

Settle access at the booking stage — key handover, smart lock code, building entry, parking. These affect the start time and are easier to resolve before the day than on it.

Where to Compare the Tiers and Book

All three tiers are published with their full scope, alongside the specialized services and the cost calculator, at https://www.shineguards.com/bratislava/. Comparing the item-by-item lists on each service page is the fastest way to settle the choice.

After a request is submitted, a manager responds within roughly 30 minutes to confirm the property parameters and fix the final price and date.

New clients receive a 10% welcome bonus on a first order, plus an additional bonus for an Instagram or Google review — 5% off a cleaning for a tagged Instagram Stories video review kept up for 24 hours. New commercial clients receive their first cleaning free of charge.

Direct contact runs through +43 1 442 10 36 and hello@shineguards.com, with WhatsApp and Telegram on +43 681 20873649. The contact centre works Monday to Friday 09:00–18:00 and at weekends 10:00–16:00.
