indieactivity: How has your Acting Improved?
Tyson Palmer (TP): When I started in the Industry, I was incredibly young at 6 years old. I did not have a particularly good understanding of what was expected as an actor. Now that I am older with 8 years experience on multiple productions.
I have learned to take the time to know my character, read scripts and know the back story. This helps me to better relate and portray my character. Another technique I have learned, and use is being able to bounce off the other actors’ emotions and actions. This helps me to connect with the characters and scene in a more realistic way.
The Official Trailer for Pasa Faho by Kalu Oji
Filming Pasa Faho has helped me to grow as an Actor. It is my biggest role and with it came a lot of responsibility. Being able to work with Okey Bakassi was amazing. He taught me a lot about acting, now I feel more confident in the way I approach different roles. I am ready to keep moving forward in my acting career.
How did I prepare for the role of ‘Obinna’ in Pasa Faho?
Tyson Palmer (TP): Once I got the script from my agent, I read the whole thing. I wanted to know the full story and characters involved. After this I would sit with my mum and talk about the different scenes. Then break down who my character is, what they are saying, and doing. Also, how they are feeling, this way I felt more connected to my character before filming starts.
Once production starts, sitting down with the Director and other main cast like Okey talking about the script and characters is what helps me to put the final parts together. I do not like to rehearse too much, a couple of times through my lines, and once morning of filming is great for me.

One Creative Choice I took on set?
Tyson Palmer (TP): The Creative choice I took on set was the choice to be myself, use my own life experiences to bring Obinna to life. Coming from a mixed-race family with cultural differences, I related to the emotions and thoughts Obinna had, they were very similar to my own, which helped me to be consistent in my portrayal of Obinna.
Moving forward from here?
Tyson Palmer (TP): At this point I do not have any new projects to announce, but I plan to stay busy getting involved with the Drama program at school, and to keep developing my acting and artistic skills.
Acting is an amazing career, and I cannot wait to see what is next.
