
I’m a witty, blonde, ball of fire currently starring in two web series, “Morning Cup” and “Game Night,” and just finished principle photography on three short films with DarlaCat Productions. Next set to star in a feature film called “Beverly and Blanche” where I’ll will be playing Beverly. I’m a clown with skills in face painting, kids’ magic, and making balloon animals. And has written an e-book called “Basic Balloon Animal Sculpting: Let’s Bring Out the Inner Child” that can be found at CatMigliaccio.com/e-book.html. Also a marathon runner completing both the Oklahoma City and New York City Marathons and counting.
In the past I’ve been seen on A&E’s “I Love You to Death”. On stage I have performed in “The Resistable Rise of Fatlinda Paloka” where she received an amazing review; internationally with University of Hertfordshire Drama Club and regionally with US Actors Company. I’m a SAG-AFTRA member and attended the summer program at American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA). Studying commercial, audition, and on camera technique with numerous New York casting directors. Currently studying improv at Magnet Theater.
indieactivity: How would you describe your acting?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Comedic- my idols are Lucy Ball and Gracie Allen
How did you get into acting?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Sophomore year, my first class was acting, I moved in the middle of the year so I was the new student at school. I had to do improv and I got a suggestion, started acting, next thing I knew my classmates were laughing and that when it hit, I wanted to make people laugh! Yes, started in high school with the Drama Program, then with Don Shook as member of US Actors Company, Michelle De Long at ACTS, OKC. Moved to NYC and studied at AADA Summer Program.

Do you work based on instincts or do you use an acting technique?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Yes I believe when acting on instinct the truth in acting comes out.
What acting technique do you use?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): I use a mixture of Meisner and Method
Describe a few wrong impressions about acting?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): That you can’t make a living off your career choice, you have to have a back up plan.
Do you still take courses in acting to increase your knowledge of your craft?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Of course, you should always keep you skills sharp. I study with various casting directors all over NYC and since I’m a SAG AFTRA member I take classes at SAG Conservatory a program offered to SAG members. I also take improv classes over at Magnet Theater.
What books do you read?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): I love reading people’s biography. I find people’s life story interesting. Currently just finished Carol Burnett This Time Together.
How do you keep in shape as an actor?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): I keep my skills fresh with acting classes, I say positive affirmations, I have a great support of friends.
What physical exercises do you do to keep fit?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): LOL I’m a marathon runner so constantly training for next marathon. But I keep fit by taking workout classes that interest me that go beyond just a good physical workout. For example Intensati and Yoga are great for body, mind and soul. Since I live in NYC I tend to walk to where I need to go so that helps and I also believe in portion control when it comes to eating.

When you are offered a role, what do you do?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): I celebrate, I think after every little success you should take a moment to celebrate because if you don’t celebrate the small moments when the big moment come you won’t know it and or you will overlook it.
How do you take a character in a script to a honest living person?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): I look to see how we relate to each other and I come up with their background, who they are, where they are from, favorite food, etc.
How do you remain fresh on a film production set?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Drink lots of water and take moments to myself.
What situation helps you character during a production?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): By taking a moment and breathe
What is the most memorable screen character you have played?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): I guess I would say: Ruby from Game Night At Saddle Ranch Estates.
What do you want from a director during a production?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): I want the director to pull the best out of me.
How do you prefer to work with a director during a production?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): My favorite is the actor director, if the scene is not going right they will pull me aside and we talk about where I’m coming from, maybe ask me questions to get me thinking.
Do you get offer from other film industries like Hollywood?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): I have a couple voice-over gigs lined up with producers in Cali but mostly work in the NYC area.
What do you think actor can do to get into Hollywood?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Work on your craft, build your resume up, go out audition and network, network, network.
Who is your favorite actor?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Such a hard question, there are so many wonderful talented actors. My idols are Lucy Ball and Gracie Allen. In todays world I would have to say Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
Why is this actor your favorite?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Gracie Allen is one of the first funny woman proving women are funny. Lucy Ball took the next step and proved a woman can be the star of a successful sitcom. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are again proving they can create, produce and star in successful sitcoms plus create, produce and star in funny movies.
What advice will you give actors around the world?
Cat Migliaccio (CM): Believe in yourselfNew York has been amazing to me. I’ve been one of the fortunate people to have moved to the city and start working in my career. First year in NYC I did a lot of theater. The next year I starred in two webseries where we shot 2 episodes every 3 week and put out an episode every 3 weeks for a solid year. This year I have completed 3 short films where 2 are currently entering the film festival circuit. And now I am set to star in an independent feature film that plans to shoot 2013. With comedy set as my path I’m making my way to accomplishing my dream and goal to one day have my own sitcom.
