I first got into acting in 2002 at Winston middle school in Baltimore MD. the first play I tried out for was “A Christmas Carol”. I was the only elf that had a big paragraph to memorize. I wasn’t sure about it but my teacher gave me confidence to bring my character to life. I was doing plays throughout middle school. When I attended West Virginia state university I was doing a few plays and decided to take up Film as a minor. Once I graduated in 2013 from college . I started to do some extra work to get set experience. I started booking short films and indie films. My family, friends, mentors and fan base keep me going everyday with this dream.

Did you study acting
I started taking improv classes at Everyman theatre in Baltimore, MD. I took acting classes in college and plan to take more in the future. I am always finding ways to improve my craft.

What acting technique do you use
The acting method I love to study is the Stanislavski’s system. I love to bring my own personal feelings and truth to a character that I play. I love to find something in common with each character I play.

What wrong impressions do actors hold about acting
I believe you should not be acting for the fame and money. I believe once you have the passion , dedication and happiness to follow your dream that’s all that matters. The money will come along later but the most important thing in throughout your career  is to keep working on your craft. I believe an actor or actress should remain humble and be thankful for each opportunity. You will hear more NO’s than Yeses sometimes but keep going. I believe a struggle will become a success story.

Do you take courses to improve your craft
I took improv classes because it keeps me sharp on my toes. When you are on set you have to be ready to improv throughout your scene . I am planning to take more classes to work on my craft because I believe you can always learn more about acting

What acting books do you read
Honestly I haven’t found an acting book that I like. I learn from studying other actors on my favorite tv shows and movies. I like to take what an actor do in a scene to prepare me for my acting roles

How do you keep fit as an actor
I keep fit as an actress by working out on a daily basis . I love to take long walks to write scripts in my mind or go over my lines for my acting roles. I try not to think about the negative while chasing this dream because you can fall into a depress stage. I try to think positive and keep pushing forward towards my goals in my acting career.

How do you prepare for a role, after you get it
I prepare for a role by breaking down the script with each scene I am in. I want to be able to download be into my character right away after I breakdown the scenes. I go over my lines and play around with the scene in my mind. I then go watch a scene from my favorite actor/actress and bring their tools to my scenes.

How do you take a character in a script to an honest, believable and breathing person
I create a character from a script to in person by playing the scene in my mind and repeating what I did in my mind. My job is to make a personal connection to my character to make the role believable as possible to play.

How do you stay fresh on set
I stay fresh on set by focusing on what role I get that day rather it’s an extra role or principal role. I love to eat healthy on set and make sure I have plenty of water. The only problem I need to work on is getting the proper rest I need before filming. When we take a break I am focusing on what I am going to do next to bring my character to life in that scene.

Describe a memorable character you played
A memorable character I played was a bipolar character. I really had to challenge my emotions in traveling vagabond coming out summer 2017 . I love to cry in my scenes because that gives me a sense of idea how painful that character felt going through their struggle. I have a few more characters that’s memorable but I know it’s more to come in my future roles . I also can’t wait to play the role of Mattie in ” camp Wilson ” indie written by Barry battle filming start on 2017. I love to play emotional characters.

Explain one creative choice you took on set
One creative choice I made on set that the director told me to try not to over think things. I been told I take directions well I just get frustrated at myself if I mess up. Once I relax and let things flow they fall into place just fine.

What do you want most from a director
I want a director to challenge me and take me places that I haven’t gone yet. I want them to help me bring my character to life .

What actors do you long to work with
I have two actors in mind. It was hard for me to say just one . they are Tom hanks , and Tamala Jones .

Why
I would love to work with them. What I learn from Tom Hanks and Tamala Jones is that they both drama/comic actors. I have seen every movie or tv show they have been in and they have inspiring characters. I never really see them play the same characters and each character you can learn from . I can be a funny actress but I can also be a serious one too.  I take their acting methods and add my own spin to them in my scenes. I have been looking up to them for years and will continue to learn from both. They are humble and professional with all their roles.

What advice would you give to actors
The one advice I would give actors around the world is just remain humble. An actor should grow with the change and focus on their craft. It’s fine if you get rejections after an audition but you have to learn from your mistakes. Sometimes it may not be you in the room that’s the problem. An actor should be in an acting class or finding ways to improve their craft. I believe you should create your own opportunities while searching for other projects to work on. The goal is to never give up on your acting career because it’s going slow for you. Always remember your time is coming . Always challenge yourself and take risks. Always go with your heart with your career decision.

Briefly write about your career
I started out in plays such as “Scrooge, and a Christmas carol”. In 2013 I started to get set experience by doing background work on Veep, house of cards , creed , for my man and a few more. I have been in numerous of indie films and short films from Baltimore, And nyc .  I have been a producer on multiple indie and short films.i will be SAG  Eligible in 2017.  I also write scripts . I plan to join SAG by 30. I plan to work between the DMV and New York market for my career. I will continue to work hard at my career and never stop chasing my dream..
