OSCAR®-qualified Marion shares a powerful story about the only female bull-jumper in France

Los Angeles, CA (January 14, 2024). Executive produced by Cate Blanchett and Sienna Miller, MARION screened in competition at the Venice International Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, and has qualified for the 2025 Oscars®.

From the directing duo of Joe Weiland and Finn Constantine, comes MARION, an impactful short set against the backdrop of La Course Landaise – the French tradition of bull-jumping. The story follows Marion, a mother and the only female bull-jumper in France as she prepares for her grand performance in a live arena, battling against misogyny and prejudice while also juggling motherhood in the pursuit of her passion.

Joe Weiland is a BAFTA-nominated writer and director from London. His debut film ‘Gorka’ is in nomination for a BAFTA for Best Short Film. He is also the recipient of two Young Director Awards in Cannes. Alongside this – his second film Marion premiered at Venice International Film Festival and played at TIFF. Joe has a background in writing for television, commercials, and music videos and is now focusing on developing his debut feature film.

Finn Constantine is a writer/director and photographer working across film, fashion and art.  He’s work include brands such as Gucci, Adidas, Nike, and Bottega Veneta. Constantine is the founder of art magazine “Plaster” working across digital, print and video with the world’s leading artists. He has countless music videos to his credit, and recently in nomination for a UKMVA. Finn’s now moved into narrative work with his first short “Marion” and is developing his debut feature film.
