Synopsis: A few teen and youthful protesters in Iran, after being arrested by the governing regime, are offered forced labor in lieu of imprisonment. They go on a terrifying mission in the dark of night.
Mostafa Vaziri was born in 1993in Tehran, Iran. He has previously directed the short films Open Circuit (2019) and The Calf (2022) and One Of Them (2025) and edited the feature films The Wastetown (2022) and The Wasteman (2024).
The initial idea for this film was inspired by the tragic sight of mass killings of dogs and their collective burial. However, when I witnessed the nationwide protests in Iran in 2022 and learned about the forced labor imposed on individuals arrested during the protests, I incorporated new elements into the film to convey a message beyond the slaughter of dogs.
