“This City is Ours” Star Hannah Onslow and Spielberg Collaborator Caroline Goodall to Lead Short Film “The Second Time Around”
Los Angeles, CA (August 26, 2025). Hannah Onslow, currently leading BBC One’s ‘This City is Ours’ opposite Sean Bean, stars alongside renowned actress Caroline Goodall of Steven Spielberg’s ‘Schindler’s List’ and ‘Hook’ in filmmaker Jack Howard‘s debut drama short film The Second Time Around. The two actresses are include by Genevieve Lewis (BBC’s Doctors) and David Ashton (The Last King of Scotland) in supporting roles.
Logline: Set on a rainy night in London, the film follows a waitress (Hannah Onslow). Who, while closing a café, is confronts a mysterious older woman (Caroline Goodall).
The fantasy-drama project is a first for Nottingham-born writer/director Jack Howard. Who many will know best as a co-founder of the U.K. comedy duo Jack & Dean. To date, Howard has amassed 73 million views on his YouTube comedy shorts And, a combined following of over 1.5 million across his social media channels. The Second Time Around marks an exciting next step for the Brit as a dramatic filmmaker. It is a proof-of-concept for a feature film. This follows a successful crowdfunding campaign in which over 500 contributors raised more than double the campaign’s targeted amount.

Ash Horne and Max Marlow are producing the film with 42 Management & Production. Horne, co-founder of the creative studio CANTSEE is a former Creative Director at Oscar-winning Slick Films and served as Executive Producer on this year’s Cate Blanchett-supported and BAFTA-nominated short film Marion. Marlow is producing in association with his banner. A Marlow’s Production is on the shortlist for a 2024 Academy Award as a producer on the Ben Whishaw-starring short film Good Boy. The film gets support from Executive Producers Emma Thompson and Gia Coppola. It is later acquire by Disney+ and Amazon’s Prime Video for wide release. In 2025 he is a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Entertainment.
Filming on The Second Time Around wrapped in the London borough of Ealing with support from the West London Film Office at the end of last year. The project is proudly receives support from LGBTQ+ mental health charity, MindOut.
