40 Minutes Over Maui is a short film comedy from Josh Covitt and Michael Feld’s that shares the story of a couple who suddenly think they only have minutes to live in the middle of their Hawaiian vacation.

This film is based on the false missile alert that struck Hawaii in January 2018. This hilarious short film premiered at Tribeca and has already been selected by over 8 Oscar-qualifying film festivals. In July alone, 40 Minutes Over Maui will play at four (4) film festivals including LA Shorts, Indy Shorts, Traverse City, and Cordillera Film Festivals.

Logline
In the middle of a peaceful Hawaiian vacation, a couple has to grapple with a crisis that may not only forever affect their vacation, but also all of humanity.

Michael Feld received his MFA from The University of Southern California and went on to direct the documentary, One Big Holiday, for My Morning Jacket, who released the film with their 2011 album, Circuital. He was part of the editorial department for the Judd Apatow-produced film, The Five-Year Engagement and worked as a writer’s assistant for three seasons on American Dad! before leaving to pursue his own filmmaking. His films have seen him travel to every city mentioned in the Huey Lewis song “The Heart of Rock & Roll”, to Russia to see Limp Bizkit, on a five-day cruise full of Kid Rock fans, and most recently to march with the Juggalos in Washington D.C.
