I made my acting, directing, producing debut in 2005 in a stage play “JUKE”…I’ve always had a passion for the arts and charity and through the 2005 “JUKE” Stage play production I was able to perform and the proceeds from the production were donated to American Heart Association (charity).
Q:Did You Study What You Do?
Rose Johnson: Yes, I studied, not so much in a classroom setting…I have been able to perfect my acting by watching the old “Twilight Zone” series…Watching/Studying the actors facial movements, and breathing techniques provided me with the ability to actually be “present” during acting. Which means it comes across very naturally and not scripted.
Q: What is Your Filmmaking Process?
Rose Johnson: Again, my techniques are to be “present” during acting…It’s comparable to channeling the spirit of the character that you are portraying.
Tell us About the Work You Have Produced?
Rose Johnson: I have produced/directed/cast stage plays, and screenplays…”Acting is not studying a script…A true Director will allow his/her actors the ability to develop their character…So when this takes place you will see Magic in the production. Produced—“JUKE” Stage Play and I’m honored to announce that by popular demand “JUKE” Stage Play will be making another debut in 2019…I’m especially proud of this production because this is a production that was written by me and my husband Adrian D. Branch.
Unfortunately, Adrian passed away from a severe stroke and I know that his wishes would be for me to continue the production…The proceeds from the production will be donated to the National Stroke foundation.
Q: Do You Take Courses to Improve Your Craft?
Rose Johnson: No I don’t take any workshops or classes, I don’t discount workshops, or classes, however I feel a true actor is someone that is in communication with his/her higher self..
Q: How do You Combine Acting, Producing and Writing?
Rose Johnson: They are one and the same.
Q: How did You Get into the Film Business?
Rose Johnson: Well I guess you could say that I’ve always been in the business. I was raised an only child of James and Alice Johnson…My parents always encouraged me to seek my higher self within. My parents were very free-flowing and always encouraged me to per-fect my acting craft…I was always told that “Life is a Movie” and you are the director of your own Life.
My film business debut was made in independent film “Tryin Times” (drama)…I also recently shot a sci-fi independent film in Hawaii during the summer of 2018. I’m super excited about this film, the premier is scheduled for 2019 and I’m unable to release the title just yet, however I play the role of the Wise Oracle. Stay Tuned for the premiere.
Q: How do You Turn an Idea into a Screenplay?
Rose Johnson: I turn an idea into a screenplay by first doing meditation, after that the characters take form and the stage is set, and it flows effervescently.

Rose Johnson: Believe in Yourself and Your Art…

Rose Johnson: I directed “JUKE” stage play, and I allowed the characters to use their creative energy, so that the “Magic” could happen

Rose Johnson: I would like to see more movies that Awaken the Spirit of Mankind

Rose Johnson: Humanity, Philanthropy, Unity
Q: What do You Want from an Actor During Production?
Rose Johnson: To use their creative input
Q: How Do You Prefer to Work with a Producer During a Production?
Rose Johnson: My preference is to work with the producer and we both recognize each other’s strengths and weaknesses and then we fill in the gaps.
Q: How do You Think a Director Can do to Get into the Film Industry?
Rose Johnson: Persistence
Q: Who is Your Favourite Film Director?
Rose Johnson: Quentin Tarantino
Q: Why?
Rose Johnson: Because he ignites great talent in his actors.
Q: What Advice will You Give Directors?
Rose Johnson: Don’t’ Micro-manage, Don’t always follow the script, Allow the Magic to happen
Q: Briefly Describe Your Career?
Rose Johnson: I am a director, produce, actor. I have done stage plays, voice overs for animated videos, games and Indie Films. I am a firm believer in using my celebrity format to give back to humanity, proceeds from GODDESS ROSE productions are donated to charity. I’ve also played a key role in the behind the scenes Artist Development…There is so much more to come for “Goddess Rose”.
